RYA – March 24th – Coronavirus update

The RYA has updated its guidance following the recent Government announcements concerning Covid-19.

As you will have seen, the latest measures to stop the virus spreading now include not leaving home unless absolutely necessary, keeping at least two metres from others and washing your hands as soon as you get home. This follows the closure of entertainment, hospitality and indoor leisure premises across the country including private sports clubs.

Therefore, any club which hasn’t already closed its doors as of Friday 20 March is being urged to do as soon as possible.

We appreciate the current situation will be having a dramatic financial and long-term sustainability impact on clubs and we’re here to support you. Please see the information below regarding the latest advice and information from the RYA Legal team.

Over the next few weeks we want to be able to share experiences and advice from other clubs as much as possible in order to keep communications going. Here is an example from Delph Sailing Club who managed to successfully run their AGM from their homes.
