Rail Removal from the Second Slipway

The the rail that had at some point been hit and consequently had then been protruding through the silt bed on slipway number two, close to the compound on the inside mooring channel, has now been removed by the dive team.
It was cut away and then floated with lift bags to the compound wall, where it will be cut up and removed at a later date.

On inspection of the remaining rail and steel work, they are still just below bed level but would advise caution when transiting through the water on the inside channel. A white marker buoy has been left in place of the approximate location.

Please check your draft of vessel and depth of water before transit over to avoid scraping through the silt and coming into contact with any remaining steel work below the bed.

I wish to thank Mike Pacey for supplying and organizing the Dive team, equipment and his time free of charge and of course Patrick, Mr T, Adrian and Smee to facilitate the removal of this rail.
