Skippers’ Oostende Discussion / Planning
Several boats should be heading for the Oostende Maritime festival.
The passage will of course be weather dependent so it’s likely that some skippers and crew may depart before the 22nd of May, the start of the festival.
Because the skippers and crews will have differing knowledge of the Oostende port and the various marinas, I believe it could be beneficial if those interested had a meeting to talk through the procedures on arrival there and the issues likely to be encountered on the passage itself.

Please remember that the bridge opening times are (normally) for the Gullwing which is the “lead“ bridge and the operators prefer 30 minutes notice for a lift.
It follows that when entering Lowestoft harbour and wanting to return to the LCC, we need to be through the bascule bridge in good order for the Gullwing at the prescribed times.
Southwold Harbour won’t reduce harbour dues for us, so it will be £13 per day.
