RYA East Cruising Conference 2025
This event is designed for skippers, crews and anyone interested in cruising activity, especially those on the East coast.
The day offers a wide choice of workshops and breakout sessions covering a huge range of subjects, including, but not limited to;
- The historic Pioneer Trust
- Weather forecasting
- Passage planning for the Thames
- Assistive technology for the visually impaired
- Scientific information on anti-fouling
- The work of the Essex Police Marine Unit
- A live life-raft inflation
A range of exhibitors will also be in attendance, including the RNLI, NCI, Cruising Association, Essex Marine Police and the Coastguard.
RYA East Cruising Conference 2025
The programme has been developed this year to allow for more workshops and interactive sessions and less time in the large conference room.
Spaces are limited for all session so please book early to ensure you get your first choices.
The ticket price includes a comprehensive buffet lunch and plenty of tea and coffee. RYA members and non-members are welcome. Members enjoy a preferential rate of £35 per ticket (non-members £55)

Work Party Cleaning the Pontoons
The damp weather has made these very slippery and a priority to address.
If you are able to attend, we plan to start at 10:00.
If you have a pressure cleaner with a patio cleaning head, electrical lead / pontoon socket and water hose or just a stiff brush, please bring down.

Hopefully we can work in several areas at the same time focussing on the main pontoon, but if we have enough people and time permits we will also clean the fingers which is normally the responsibility of the berth holders.

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Rule 7.1. of the Constitution, notice of the 60th Annual General Meeting is to be held on the 13th of March at 7:30pm in The Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Club, Royal Plain, Lowestoft NR33 0AQ.
Any and all proposals by the members must be in writing and in the possession of the Club’s Honorary Secretary by 7:00pm on the 12th of February 2026.
